The Vancouver Canucks have placed center Nils Åman on waivers. The 24-year-old has played four games with the Canucks this season, recording two assists while averaging 10:28 of ice time. Over the past three seasons, Åman has skated in 115 games for Vancouver, collecting seven goals and 18 points during that time.

If he clears, this will be the third straight season Åman plays games for the Abbotsford Canucks. Last season, he played 15 games, recording eight goals and 15 points. Abbotsford is currently in San Diego to play the Gulls, which could mean Åman makes his AHL season debut as early as tomorrow.

The move is a good indicator that Dakota Joshua is very close to making his season debut for the Canucks. Joshua has missed Training Camp and the first nine games of the season as he recovers from offseason surgery. Last season, Joshua had a career year, scoring 18 times and recording 32 points in 63 games.
Up next for Vancouver will be a battle against the San Jose Sharks. The game falls on the first anniversary of the Canucks 10-1 win in San Jose, which stands as one of the largest wins in franchise history. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm PT from the SAP Center.
