Taylor Swift still has more surprises on her Eras tour as she continues the final leg of her Eras Tour. For her concert on Friday in New Orleans, the first of three sold-out shows at Caesars Superdome, where stars like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were among the concertgoers, she debuted two new looks from stylist Joseph Cassel Falconer.
Swift took inspiration from the city itself. During the “1989” segment of the show, she wore a two-piece number composed of a bralette and miniskirt. The look featured purple, yellow and green — the colors of Mardi Gras.
It was done in a crystalized ombre and was a new color variation of a Roberto Cavalli look she’s worn previously. That design was done under the creative direction of Fausto Puglisi.
In addition, Swift treated fans to a new song. She performed a mashup of her tracks “Our Song” and “Call It What You Want” during the acoustic section of the show. That look was also ombre: it was an orange, white and blue draped chiffon dress featuring a high front. Swift has worn two other versions of that Roberto Cavalli dress in the past, which fans have dubbed the “Tide Pod” dress — a reference to the Tide company’s detergent packs featuring swirls of colors. The New Orleans iteration quickly went viral, with Google Trends revealing a 4,750% increase in search queries overnight.
The Eras tour first kicked off in 2023 in the U.S., and continued throughout Europe, Australia, Asia as well as Central and South America. Earlier this month it landed back in the United States with stops in Miami. After New Orleans, the tour will move to Indianapolis and Toronto before ending in Vancouver. She will have completed more than 150 stops across five continents.
Brands she has worn on the tour range from Roberto Cavalli to Jenny Packham, Naeem Khan, Versace and Reem Acra. Christian Louboutin made more than 250 shoes for the tour.
