Jingle Ball 2024 in Los Angeles on Friday brought out Tate McRae and Paris Hilton, among other stars, and the two music artists put their own takes on holiday dressing — with a Y2K twist.
McRae, who performed a handful of her songs — opening with “Exes” and running through the set list with “It’s ok I’m ok,” “You Broke Me First,” “Run for the Hills,” “2 hands,” and “Greedy” — took the stage in an ensemble that nodded to Santa. She wore an all-red look consisting of a glitter-outlined corset and studded leather shorts — all paired with a marabou cuff and matching furry boots.
Meanwhile, Hilton opted to embrace holiday-timed sparkle. The music artist — who also has her own entertainment company, 11:11 Media, which recently announced its expansion into beauty and skincare — arrived in a chainmail ensemble paid tribute to her iconic 21st birthday dress. For the Jingle Ball, Hilton wore a plunging draped chainmail dress with a cape in the back, matching rhinestone thigh-high boots, a rhinestone choker, and sunglasses encrusted with rhinestones.
The outfit was also a throwback to the look Hilton wore to this year’s MTV VMAs, which consisted of a distressed Celia Kritharioti dress crafted from bedazzled chainmail. Hilton completed the look with a matching box clutch and pumps, and layered jeweled chokers.
McRae and Hilton’s embrace of aughts fashion is right on-trend, between the recent return and runway debut of Ed Hardy — a brand Hilton wore frequently in the 2000s — and the popping up of many aughts staples on the runway. The Jingle Ball 2024 also included performances from SZA, Meghan Trainor, Kane Brown, Benson Boone, Madison Beer, Shaboozey, T-Pain, Paris Hilton and NCT Dream. Meanwhile, the annual holiday concert also brought out stars such as Addison Rae, Ali Larter, Nikki Glaser, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Bennett, Tori Spelling and more.
