Selena Gomez made an appearance at a Sephora in New York City to celebrate Rare Beauty and Sephora’s Make a Rare Impact campaign on Tuesday. The Rare Impact Fund focuses on raising awareness to support youth with their mental health.
For the special occasion, Gomez made a case for statement belts with an ensemble by Khaite. The “Only Murders in the Building” actress wore a sleeveless black bodysuit with a scoop neckline, paired with white wide-leg trousers and a studded belt.
The belt featured jewelry-like hardware with disc-shaped studs, a buckle, loop and tip. Gomez completed her ensemble with pointed-toe black heels. For her glam, the actress and Rare Beauty founder styled her hair in voluminous curls with a side part, opting for bold brows and a soft pink lip.
The Rare Impact campaign returns to coincide with Mental Health Day on Thursday. Like last year, Sephora will donate 100 percent of global Rare Beauty sales to the Rare Impact Fund in order to increase support and access to youth mental health resources and education worldwide.
“The mental health crisis continues to impact young people disproportionately and partners like Sephora are instrumental, not only by believing in this mission, but by contributing crucial funds to expand mental health resources for the young people who need them,” Gomez said.
Rare Beauty launched exclusively with Sephora in September 2020. Last May, Rare Beauty hosted its third annual Mental Health Summit, promoting the brand’s 2024 initiative Make a Good Call, which encourages people to make regular phone calls to their loved ones.
“Rare Beauty is more than a brand. This is what Selena wanted to do. We’re about starting positive conversations around self acceptance and mental health,” Rare Beauty’s chief marketing officer Katie Welch said. “We are changing and challenging these standards of perfection within beauty and beyond by doing things like we’re doing today.”
