Nicole Kidman embraced lingerie inspiration at GQ’s 2024 Men of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday. The British iteration of the magazine’s annual issue features Kidman, Richard Gadd of Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer” and fashion designer Haider Ackermann.
Kidman walked the red carpet in a long-sleeved scarlet Balenciaga design. Her turtleneck gown featured a lace-up back with satin ribbons that extended into a floor-length train. She completed her look with jeweled rings and matching red pumps.
Stylist Jason Bolden, who also counts “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo and supermodel Cara Delevingne as clients, dressed Kidman for the occasion.
The actress wore her strawberry blond hair in a wavy long bob, while her makeup consisted of brown eye shadow and pink-nude lip liner.
Kidman has a close relationship with Balenciaga, having been named a brand ambassador for the fashion house late last year, joining Isabelle Huppert, Michelle Yeoh and Kim Kardashian.
“Balenciaga has been with me through some of the most memorable events in my life, from my wedding to the Oscars red carpet,” Kidman said in a 2023 statement.
At the Academy Museum Gala in October, the Oscar winner modeled a black satin Balenciaga design featuring a square neckline. Her backless look, which came with matching elbow-length gloves, evoked old Hollywood glamour.
Lingerie inspiration was popular on the Parisian runways during the spring 2025 season, with WWD naming it one of the biggest trends of Paris Fashion Week, according to retailers. From the trompe-l’oeil hosiery at Balenciaga to Valentino’s frilly lace looks, “the ways of expression vary,” said Eric Young, owner of Le Monde De SHC, but all “have shown the drive to forward lingerie as an outer part of fashion.”
