The College Football Hall of Fame announced the members of its Class of 2025 on Wednesday, ushering in a new slate of college football legends. This year’s class includes 18 players and four coaches, with a number of notable names.
The class is headlined by two championship coaches, Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. Saban, who finished his career at Alabama in 2023, is a seven-time National Champion who earned six of those rings with the Crimson Tide, and earns the honor just one year after retiring from the sideline. (Saban learned that he was elected to the Hall of Fame during a “College GameDay” appearance on Friday.) Meyer led his teams to a National Championship three times, twice with Florida and once with Ohio State; he retired from coaching college football in 2018.
Standout names from the players class include former Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick, a first-team All-American who went on to be a four-time Pro Bowler in the NFL, and Texas Southern defensive end Michael Strahan, who went on to a storied stint with the New York Giants and a career in broadcasting.
The final slate was selected from a ballot of 77 players and nine coaches from the FBS division, and 101 players and 34 coaches from other divisions. The Class of 2025 will be officially inducted at a ceremony on Dec. 9 in Las Vegas; the honorees will also be recognized in ceremonies at their colleges throughout the fall.
