The Cleveland Browns hosted LSU tight end and NFL Draft prospect Mason Taylor on a visit this week, per Jordan Schultz at FOX Sports.
As a rising prospect in the draft, Taylor has had meetings with numerous teams over the past week, both in person and over Zoom.
Mason is the son of former NFL defensive end Jason Taylor, a coach at the University of Miami. During the pre-draft process, Mason Taylor has emerged as one of the highest-ceiling tight ends in this draft class. He scored an 80 in both the Athleticism and Total grades for his NFL Combine performance, finishing in the top five among tight ends.
Taylor also had an impressive final year at LSU, putting together his best season at the collegiate level. In 12 games, he collected 546 yards on 55 receptions with two touchdowns. He solidified himself as a reliable target in LSU’s pass-heavy offense throughout 2024.
Cleveland’s tight end room would greatly benefit from adding Mason Taylor. Besides David Njoku, the Browns’ three other tight ends have combined for 22 catches, 168 yards, and one touchdown. If Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski plans to run two tight-end sets, he will need to address the lack of production behind Njoku. We’ll see if Taylor is a young player the Browns feel could make an immediate impact on the roster.
