New York Giants legend Lawrence Taylor the focus of new feature film, documentary

There have been several documentaries about the life and legacy of New York Giants Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor. They’ve all touched upon his greatness and impact on the game as well as his transgressions off the field.

But when you’re considered the greatest defensive player in the 110-year history of the National Football League, there’s always going to be another tribute/expose about your life. In fact, an entire new media package dedicated to Taylor is in the works.

From Deadline:

Stoked Sports & Entertainment has struck an exclusive deal with BEL Productions for the life rights of NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, with plans to develop A Giant Amongst Men, a multi-platform media project that will include a narrative feature, a limited series, and a documentary.

A Giant Amongst Men will delve into the meteoric rise, formidable legacy, and personal challenges of one of football’s most electrifying and controversial figures. Development is underway across all three formats, with announcements on talent attachments anticipated in the coming months.

Taylor, known simply as “L.T.” to football fans, played his entire 13-year NFL career professional career for the Giants. He was named both NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1981, and in 1986 became only the second defensive player in league history to win the NFL Most Valuable Award (Minnesota’s Alan Page was the other in 1971).

In total, L.T. was selected to 10 Pro Bowls and named First-Team All-Pro eight times in leading the Giants to two Super Bowl victories (XXI, XXV). He retired with a total of 132.5 career sacks and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio in 1999.
