The New Orleans Saints, along with the rest of the NFL teams, have released their 2025 schedule, and with that, they have also put out their preseason games in the same team announcement. The Saints will have quite an intriguing preseason this year, considering the matchups they have in store. Here is how things look for their August bouts:
- Preseason Week 1: at Los Angeles Chargers, 3:30 P.M., Aug. 10
- Preseason Week 2: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, Noon, Aug. 17
- Preseason Week 3: vs. Denver Broncos, Noon, Aug. 23
These games make for some intriguing narratives, firstly because of the team’s history of joint practices with the Chargers. While their 2024 practices with the San Francisco 49ers were cancelled due to the sheer number of injuries sustained between the teams in the games, 2023 was a different story, as the Saints met up with the Chargers at the Jack Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa, Calif. This could make for some interesting matchups, especially considering the Nathan Shepherd and Bradley Bozeman scuffle in their last game back in October. With Kellen Moore having stated that he wanted to hold joint practices, this may be the perfect opportunity to do so.
Additionally, the Saints will take on one of their former head coaches, as they will go up against the Broncos and Sean Payton for the second time in a calendar year. With the last matchup not working out so well for the Saints, this may be their chance to get a look at their starters against a 2024 playoff team, given it is the last of the games for them before things kick off. Lots of fun topics to discuss surrounding this preseason as it gets closer, and three games that will make for some good football.
