MILAN — Another Italian design jewel is moving into New York City’s NoMad district. On May 17, Bisazza, the renowned Italian manufacturer that creates mosaics with an intricacy reminiscent of Ancient Rome, will open the doors of its new flagship at 130 Madison Avenue.
With its new address at the heart of NoMad, Bisazza joins Italian peers like Porro, Poltrona Frau, Cappellini, Minotti, Molteni&C, Rimadesio, Luxury Living, B&B Italia, Natuzzi and Flos B&B Italia Group (formerly Design Holding). The NoMad location replaces Bisazza’s existing West 20th Street store.
Opening concurrently with the NYCxDesign event, Bisazza will unveil the Fornasetti x Bisazza collection of four large-format mosaic patterns based on Fornasetti’s famed Sole di Capri, Ortensia, Bocca and Serratura. The collection was first showcased at Salone del Mobile.Milano in April.
Inside the new space, Bisazza will also showcase collaborations like the trompe-l’œil architectural lllusions by American visual artist Daniel Arsham, and fashion brand Pucci’s haute couture patterns reimagined in glass. Bisazza debuted the “Bisazza Wears Emilio Pucci” collection in 2014 and reinterpreted the designer’s Collane pattern from 1971, which it said took three artisans more than 200 hours to create.
Collaborations from designers like Marcel Wanders, Belgian-Dutch multidisciplinary design practice Studio Job, Paris-based India Mahdavi and Spanish designer and architect Patricia Urquiola, and Italian architect and designer Paola Navone will also be on display.

Founded by Renato Bisazza in 1956 in the Italian jewelry heartland of Vicenza, northern Italy, the company has existing flagships in London, Milan and Paris, along with a network of more than 2,800 local retailers.
Despite the economic slowdown gripping the luxury industry worldwide, Bisazza’s U.S. business has been growing consistently year-over-year, Renato’s daughter Rossella Bisazza said.
“While Europe remains our biggest market overall, North America is quickly catching up, especially in key cities like New York. Opening this flagship store is a reflection of that momentum and our long-term commitment to the U.S. market,” she told WWD.
NYCxDesign will run May 15 to 21.
