Michelle Obama Flexes Structured Shoulders in Balmain to Vote by Mail for the 2024 Election

Former First Lady Michelle Obama looked radiant wearing Balmain to cast her vote by mail for the 2024 presidential election on Thursday.

To commemorate the occasion, the former first lady posed for an Instagram picture wearing a sage green knit top and cardigan set paired with an asymmetric khaki skirt from the French label’s fall 2024 collection. Her earth-toned outfit’s hardware detailing was complemented by her chunky gold jewelry.

Meredith Koop, Obama’s longtime stylist, was behind the look. Koop also styled the “Becoming” author’s ensemble at the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Albie Awards on Sept. 27.

There, Obama opted for polished power suiting, wearing a custom Atelier Versace look. The black suit set featured a silky double-breasted blazer with soft shoulders paired with wide-leg black trousers. A series of intertwined safety pins ran along the lapels of the sleek suit jacket.

The “Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast” host clearly favors the Italian fashion house, suiting up again in Versace for an Audible and Higher Ground “The Wonder of Stevie” event in New York City earlier this month. For the occasion, Obama wore the Barocco-print double-breasted blazer emblazoned with silver Medusa Head buttons. She paired a coordinating blouse and similarly patterned pants with the look. Black boots and a pair of bold silver statement earrings finished her ensemble.

Obama even sported a futuristic-feeling suit to speak on the second day of the Democratic National Convention on Aug. 20 in Chicago. Her tailored sleeveless jacket featured crisscross detailing, and was paired with matching trousers. Her look was from Monse’s resort 2025 collection, and brought the brand $1.2 million in media impact value, according to Launchmetrics.
