Vonn wasn’t the only guest wearing Thom Browne at the opening ceremony. Ariana Grande wore a sleeveless pink ankle-length dress from the American designer with a bow detail at the waist. The singer wore pink as a soft nod to her “Wicked” character Galinda Upland, otherwise known as Glinda.

The opening ceremony was created by artistic director Thomas Jolly, a French actor and stage director with experience with large-scale productions. Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura were featured in the ceremony, which took place along the Seine River and featured the traditional parade of athletes from 206 national Olympic committees traveling on nearly 100 boats. The parade passed by famous Parisian landmarks such as Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower.

U.S. First Lady Jill Biden, Chrissy Teigen, Nina Dobrev, Serena Williams and other celebrities attended the event.

The 2024 Paris Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, will take place through Aug. 11. This edition marks the centenary of the last time Paris hosted the Games in 1924.
