Lady Gaga embodied Harley Quinn at the U.K. premiere of “Joker: Folie à Deux” at Cineworld Leicester Square. The singer-turned-actress arrived alongside her fiancé, Michael Polansky, wearing a custom red gown by Celine.
The gown, designed by Celine creative director Hedi Slimane, featured distinctive structural elements, including voluminous shoulder pads and a sharp plunging neckline, mirroring her onscreen character’s style.
The floor-length gown featured precise tailoring, with its sculptural shape cinching at the waist and flowing into a mermaid-style skirt. A cropped jacket accentuated her shoulders, evoking 1980s power dressing, complemented by her sleek bob haircut and smoky blue eye makeup. Lady Gaga completed her ensemble with black nail polish and minimal accessories, allowing the red structural gown to be the focal point.
Lady Gaga’s journey with Celine took off in August 2018 when she became the first celebrity to wear Slimane’s debut collection for the brand. In Paris, she marked the launch of Slimane’s design’s for Celine by carrying a black leather bag with gold hardware from this inaugural line. Gaga returned to Paris ahead of the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony, dressed in a silver jacket and the 16 Bag from Celine.
Her red carpet appearance for “Joker: Folie à Deux” comes just one day after announcing her new album “Harlequin,” set to release on Friday. The album, a companion piece to the film, features 13 tracks. Lady Gaga has promoted “Harlequin” with cryptic social media teasers and billboards displaying the number “6.5.”
Lady Gaga stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the musical psychological thriller, which is a sequel to 2019’s “Joker.” Directed by Todd Phillips, the film explores the dynamic between Phoenix’s Joker and Lady Gaga’s character, Harley Quinn.
