Kylie Kelce, the wife of NFL star Jason Kelce and host of the new Not Gonna Lie podcast, isn’t mincing words about pregnancy. As a former collegiate field hockey player, a high school field hockey coach, and a soon-to-be mom of four, Kylie has plenty on her plate—and she’s refreshingly candid about her experiences. In her debut podcast episode, she opened up about why pregnancy isn’t exactly her favorite stage of motherhood, blending heartfelt gratitude with unfiltered honesty.
“I always say I am so incredibly grateful to be able to get pregnant. Unbelievably grateful,” she began, acknowledging the privilege and challenges of conception. “I have realized in my adult life that it is not as easy to get pregnant as we were originally led on to believe in high school. Okay, you can’t just look at someone and there it goes. It’s not that easy. And so I am so incredibly grateful to be able to get pregnant. But it is a means to an end.”

It’s a sentiment that many moms can relate to—the complex mix of gratitude for the ability to grow a family and the physical and emotional toll that pregnancy can take. For Kylie, those tolls are significant, and she didn’t hold back when describing her challenges.
“When I tell you that I cannot stand being pregnant, I mean it; it, I don’t have a fun time,” she shared. “I am nauseous for most of my pregnancy. It tapers off a little after the first trimester. For every single one, has been the same; it tapers off a little bit, but I continue to have nausea throughout my pregnancy. I have had more aversions than cravings for every pregnancy.”
And then there’s the unsolicited commentary—an experience most moms-to-be know all too well. “When you’re super pregnant and someone comes up to you and says, ‘Oh, isn’t this just the most beautiful thing ever?’ I want to punch you in the face. I’m not going to, but I want to.” It’s the kind of humor and honesty that makes Kylie’s perspective so relatable.

Despite the discomfort, Kylie’s love for her growing family shines through. She summed up her feelings with a trademark mix of wit and candor: “Zero out of 10, don’t recommend.”
Still, Kylie knows pregnancy isn’t all bad—especially when it comes to indulging in pregnancy cravings. In fact, she’s inviting her audience to get in on the fun. “I would love to hear what some of yours are,” she said. “I do find, especially this pregnancy, that sometimes when people say something, usually it’s not a funky pregnancy craving. It’s just a specific food that I then want it. So maybe we can set off some cravings. Tag me on TikTok with some of your pregnancy cravings. I would love to see what they are. Maybe we can even try some out.”
Honest, funny, and full of heart, Kylie Kelce’s take on pregnancy offers a much-needed reminder that it’s okay to feel grateful—and exhausted—all at once.
