Ella Emhoff, the second daughter of the United States, wore a camisole top by Coach to the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night. Emhoff, who has become a fashion darling that is known for her style, attended the event alongside names like Blake Lively, Angel Reese and Alix Earle.
Emhoff’s look included a marled knit camisole. The gray, black and white piece included spaghetti straps and a slightly cropped silhouette. She paired it with a voluminous plaid maxi skirt, which featured a massive bow. Emhoff accessorized the set with a shoulder bag featuring charms. including a pair of dice, like those often seen dangling from the rearview mirrors of cars, as well as a blue ribbon. Underneath the dark skirt she wore black sneakers.
The top and skirt were both from Coach, with styles that were explored in the brand’s fall 2024 collection. Though the brand used different fabrications, the opening look for that show was similarly a camisole and maxi-skirt featuring an oversized floppy bow. The bag and charms are also from the same collection.
Emhoff, who signed to IMG in 2021 in a modeling contract, has made a name for herself on the fashion circuit. She mixes major designers like Thom Browne, of whom she is a fan, and Tory Burch, with younger independent names like Joe Ando-Hirsh. Ando-Hirsh notably made a dress that Emhoff wore onstage this summer at the Democratic National Convention.
Emhoff is a knitter in her own right and runs Soft Hands Knit Club, which she started in 2023. The group meets periodically to build a community around knitting and to complete projects. Some of her knitting projects include crocheted canvas “paintings.” Earlier this month, she launched a collaborative line of socks with Doublesoul, which features prices that range from $20 to $100. During New York Fashion Week last month, she walked in shows for Eckhaus Latta, Proenza Schouler and Coach.
The 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards will take place at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on Oct. 28, with Cynthia Erivo hosting. Honorees at this year’s ceremony include Coach, Michael Kors, Annie Leibovitz and finally, Erykah Badu, who will receive the coveted Fashion Icon Award.
