Jill Biden gave power suiting her own unique, seasonal spin upon returning from a weekend trip to Delaware. President Joe Biden and the first lady returned to the White House on Monday following their excursion to Rehoboth Beach, Del., with members of their family.
Upon returning to the White House, Jill Biden demonstrated her proclivity for power suiting with a seasonal spin. The First Lady of the United States wore a pair of white tapered pants with an untucked blue-and-white pin-striped button-down shirt with a sharp white collar.
She also wore a dark blazer and a pair of wedges in contrasting dark and light colorways with ribbon straps tied around her ankles. The first lady completed her summer suiting look with a pair of bold sunglasses.
Power suits are having a moment during the summer season, with several high-profile figures, celebrities and royalty styling variations of the classic style. On Sunday, Miley Cyrus wore an Alexander McQueen power suit with sinuous heavy metal detail to the D23 Disney Legends ceremony in Anaheim, Calif.
Royal women like Queen Maxima of the Netherlands have also styled power suits during the season with colorful flair. Queen Maxima wore a wool and silk duchess satin blazer in a shade of light green with wool and silk flared trousers by Max Mara during a daytime event on May 28. Queen Letizia of Spain has also styled her iteration of the power suit during summertime events.
For Jill Biden, though, gravitating toward the color blue and keeping her style comfortable has been at the forefront of some of her recent fashion selections. For example, the first lady wore blue pieces while attending events for the 2024 Paris Olympics last July.
As Biden enters the last few months as first lady, styling pieces evocative of her own personal approach to fashion and appreciation for comfortable, versatile pieces might be what she gravitates toward most in the time ahead.
