The Chicago Bears have been busy making moves during the 2025 NFL draft to land some potential impact contributors, starting with the first and second rounds through the later rounds. One of the potential late-round gems is UTSA cornerback Zah Frazier, who was selected with the 169th overall pick.
Frazier, who clocks in at 6-foot-3 and 186 pounds, ran a 4.36 40-yard dash and is an absolute ballhawk having totaled six interceptions last season. He also totaled 24 tackles, one tackle for loss, a team-high nine pass breakups, one forced fumble and allowed a 35.8 passer rating when targeted. Frazier has elite ball skills, speed and length that make him an intriguing prospect for Chicago in the fifth round.
One Bears player who’s taken notice is safety Jaquan Brisker, who seems to be a fan of the selection after retweeting highlights of the Bears’ newest cornerback on X (Twitter).
Frazier has high upside as a fifth-round selection, and he’ll have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot in a loaded cornerback group that also consists of Pro Bowler Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Tyrique Stevenson and Terell Smith.
Brisker has been “loving” what general manager Ryan Poles and his staff are doing during the draft, having shared his thoughts on Chicago’s first four picks between Days 1 and 2. And that seems to have continued on Day 3, where the Bears have added Frazier, linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II and guard Luke Newman.
