Georgia WR entering transfer portal after arrest, suspension

The Georgia Bulldogs have a second player that is entering the transfer portal. Sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle is entering the transfer portal.

Tuggle has had a tumultuous few months at Georgia. During the winter transfer portal window, Tuggle considering leaving Georgia before he decided to return. After the start of Georgia’s spring practice, Tuggle was arrested for reckless driving and later suspended for the remainder of spring practice. Tuggle did not appear in Georgia’s spring game.

“Yeah, disappointed obviously, in those two young men (Nitro Tuggle and Marques Easley) and the decision-making process for each one,” said Georgia head coach Kirby Smart following Tuggle and Easley’s arrests. “You know, both of them are younger players and have made crucial mistakes.”

Georgia has not suspended players for reckless driving incidents in the past, but Smart and UGA changed their approach and elected to suspend Tuggle and Easley. Georgia has had numerous other players involved in driving incidents.

Tuggle played in eight games and posted three catches for 34 yards as a true freshman with Georgia in 2024. Tuggle is a former four-star recruit and caught two passes for 25 yards against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Tuggle is good at generating separation and should be one of the better available wide receivers in the transfer portal. Tuggle joins Georgia running back Branson Robinson as the Bulldogs’ two players to enter the portal this spring.
