Eva Mendes took to Instagram on Tuesday to give her fans an “eye to toe” view of a look she favored for the U.S. gymnastics final last Sunday during the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside her longtime partner, actor Ryan Gosling, and their daughters Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee.
“I left my heart in Paris,” Mendes began the caption to her post. “Eyes to toe in beautiful [Stella McCartney].” For the occasion, Mendes opted for an allover Stella McCartney-designed look, featuring a flowing navy dress with a hemline to the knee, a draped sleeve and a belted waist. Mendes coordinated the dress with a pair of white heels, bold cream sunglasses and a capacious bag.
Since taking a step back from acting in 2014, Mendes shifted her sights on designing and collaborating with different brands. Mendes launched a home decor line in collaboration with Macy’s in 2008. In 2013, Mendes revived New York & Co. with her own line — Eva by Eva Mendes.
“I say in every investor meeting that Eva saved New York & Co. because she was the first talent that said, ‘OK I’m going to take a shot at it.’ She brought her heart and soul to the brand,” New York & Co. chief executive officer Greg Scott said in 2018.
“People are very interested in Eva and what she’s doing. And she’s a trendsetter. People talk about using celebrity influencers, and we have one designing for us. She’s so ahead of the curve, with everything from turbans to high-waisted skirts to the narrow sunglasses.”
Mendes also expanded her reach into the beauty industry as the creative directory for Circa Beauty, owned by Maesa Group, which launched in Walgreens stores in February 2015.
