Eton Expands Into Knitwear

Eton is branching out beyond shirts and introducing knitwear as part of its fall collection.

The pieces were created by knitters in Venice — a region known for its classic knitwear — and each is made from RWS-certified merino wool.

The collection features three styles: a classic crewneck, a polo shirt and a quarter-zip pullover. Each of the pieces is available in seasonal fall colors of forest green, navy blue, oxblood red, beige and black.

The three-button polo and quarter-zip feature a slightly thicker 14-gauge knit, while the lighter 18-gauge knit is used for the crewneck.

“Introducing knitwear into our assortment is a natural progression for Eton,” said chief executive officer David Thörewik. “We wanted to offer our customers another element of style that appeals to their smart-casual wardrobe, complementing our casual shirts, overshirts and vests.”

He said the collection is just the beginning of what is planned for the knitwear category “with more styles and designs to follow in upcoming collections — as part of our ongoing efforts to redefine luxury menswear.”

Eton recently launched a limited-edition, all-season blazer through a partnership with the Italian tailor Caruso, and the company continues to explore other potential category expansions. “Just as with knitwear, our aim is to invite our customers into a broader world of Eton, offering a more complete and refined look,” he said.

This collection is just the beginning of Eton’s expansion into knitwear, he said, with more styles and designs set to debut in upcoming seasons. “Our aim is to invite our customers into a broader world of Eton, offering a more complete and refined look,” he concluded.
