AUBURN — Hours after spring practices ended for Auburn football, the program saw its first departure for the spring transfer portal.
Safety Terrance Love, who has spent the past two seasons on the Plains, is going portaling, according to a report from Hayes Fawcett of On3. Love reposted the report to both his personal Instagram and X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, accounts confirming the news.
A rising junior, Love should have at least two seasons of eligibility remaining. He won’t officially enter the portal until it opens April 16.
In two seasons, Love played 102 combined snaps. He registered six tackles and a pass breakup in 2023, but he had just one tackle last season. Committing to former Auburn coach Bryan Harsin, Love was a consensus four-star recruit in the 2023 class and was the eighth-highest-rated signee in Auburn’s class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Without Love, Auburn still has nine scholarship safeties rostered. However, seven of them are underclassmen.
