Apple Martin has officially made her debut — and became the first to do so in a custom gown by Valentino creative director Alessandro Michele.
Last night in Paris the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin attended the famed Le Bal des Débutantes while wearing Valentino Haute Couture. Martin stepped out in a strapless blue gown that featured a bow at the cinched waist, giving way to six plissé tiers. She completed her look with a pair of Valentino Garavani Ladycrush sandals, an updo, and winged eyeliner.
Martin was accompanied by her family for the occasion, who were also dressed in Valentino. Her mom Paltrow wore a frothy sheer gown by Valentino Alessandro Michele from Valentino’s spring 2025 Pavillon Des Folies collection, which nodded to the Italian fashion house’s founder. “I went through the things, all the little details, the ruffles, the bows, the polka dots, the colors, the embroideries, the embellishment, also the synthesis that he did in a very opulent way in just one dress,” Michele said of the collection in September.
Meanwhile, Chris Martin also wore custom Valentino — a tuxedo Michele designed for him — and Apple Martin’s brother Moses wore a Valentino suit.
Paltrow shared a photo of their family — including her mother, actress Blythe Danner — and other moments from the event and eventful weekend on Instagram, writing, “A special long weekend in Paris.”
Le Bal was created in 1992 and has evolved over the years to bring together participants from ages 16 to 22 annually for an evening that raises money for nonprofits. This year the benefit fundraised for Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital’s Congenital and Pediatric Cardiology department, which is the largest European center for the treatment of children’s heart disease. Additionally, this year’s Le Bal des Débutantes raised money for Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, which is a leading research center in cancer and blood diseases.
This year’s Le Bal des Débutantes attendees also included “And Just Like That” star Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe’s daughter Sophie Kodjoe, and the granddaughter of the late actress Sophia Loren, Lucia Sofia Ponti — daughter of Italian filmmaker Edoardo Ponti and Sasha Alexander. Martin, Kodjoe, and Ponti’s appearances at Le Bal des Débutantes follow in the wake of other children of celebrities who’ve attended, including Lily Collins, Lori Harvey, Ava Philippe, Margaret Qualley, Autumn Whitaker, Scout and Tallulah Willis, Sophia Stallone, and Ella Beatty.
