The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the better defensive units in the NFL, when healthy. Leaders on that side of the ball include Antoine Winfield Jr., Lavonte David, and Vita Vea. They have other emerging plays like Calijah Kancey and Zyon McCollum but they need more help.
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to be a great spot for them to find it as they continue building their young corp.
In the latest mock draft from The 33rd Team, Kyle Crabbs has the Bucs going defense at pick 19. He has them drafting Scouting Combine standout Nick Emmanawori, he writes, “Getting a freak athlete like Emmanwori to play on the back end opposite Antoine Winfield Jr. is an enticing opportunity for the Buccaneers. If anyone knows how to make the most out of a weapon like this, it’s Todd Bowles.”
Emmanwori, as you can see, tested out of his mind and well above expectations. On film, his traits allow him to find the ball quickly and efficiently to be a difference-maker for the South Carolina defense. He has every chance to be that and more alongside Antoine Winfield Jr. as they complement each other’s playmaking ability perfectly.
