49ers sign 10 players, including 7 draft picks and 2 veteran OL in flurry of roster moves

The San Francisco 49ers were busy Friday.

They officially announced 2022 second-round pick Drake Jackson was waived, but his departure came in the midst of a slew of roster moves that also included 10 additions for San Francisco.

Here is a quick rundown of the recently-announced moves:

49ers draft picks signed

San Francisco made 11 selections in this year’s draft. Seven of those players signed Friday. Rookie deals are mostly cookie cutter from a years and dollars perspective, but there is some minutiae in the contract language that leads to some contracts taking longer than others.

  • LB Nick Martin
  • CB Upton Stout
  • WR Jordan Watkins
  • RB Jordan James
  • S Marques Sigle
  • OL Connor Colby
  • WR Junior Bergen

The players who remain unsigned are the trio of defensive lineman they selected, including their first two picks of the draft, and seventh-round quarterback Kurtis Rourke. Defensive linemen Mykel Williams and Alfred Collins are both without contracts for now. DL CJ West, a fourth-round choice, is also unsigned.

What veterans did the 49ers sign?

San Francisco made more moves on the offensive line and in the secondary — two key areas of weakness for them even after the draft.

  • OL Andre Dillard
  • OL Nichoals Petit-Frere
  • CB Dallis Flowers

All three of these veterans will compete for roster spots, with Dillard and Petit-Frere likely slotting into the swing tackle competition with veteran free agent signee DJ Humphries.

Which players did the 49ers release?

San Francisco had to clear some room on their 90-man roster and waived three players to make room for their trio of veteran adds.

  • DL Drake Jackson
  • OL Jalen McKenzie
  • CB Tre Tomlinson
