Colts pick OL in 'what every team should do' NFL mock draft

In a “what every team should do” NFL mock draft, the Colts take an offensive lineman at pick No. 14.

Instead of trying to predict what he thinks the Indianapolis Colts will do in the 2025 NFL draft, Adam Rank of NFL.com put together a mock draft where he made his selections based on what each team should do.

“Instead of trying to forecast the future, I present my Mock Draft … with a Twist, in which I advise the teams on what they should do when the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off,” wrote Rank.

So, what does Rank think that the Colts should do at pick No. 14? Select Missouri offensive lineman Armand Membou.

And for those wondering, both Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland were already off the board before the Colts were on the clock.

Membou was one of the standout performers at this year’s NFL combine, which included posting a near-perfect Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.90, featuring a 4.91-second 40.

Membou has played nearly 2,100 career snaps at the college level, most of which came at right tackle. Over his three-year career, he has surrendered only three sacks, and in the last two seasons, Membou allowed just 23 combined pressures.

In 2024 specifically, Membou was 11th in pass-blocking efficiency and fourth in PFF’s run-blocking grade.

If Membou is on the board when the Colts are picking, I agree, they should pick him. Offensive line is a question mark for the Colts, and adding Membou to the mix would increase competition and depth at right tackle, and give the Colts added flexibility to transition Matt Goncalves to right guard.

“We’re working through that right now, (general manager Chris Ballard) and his staff, just looking at what’s out there, obviously, through free agency, possibly the draft,” Shane Steichen said of the offensive line via the Indy Star. “But obviously, offensive line’s a big part of it. You’ve got to be able to protect the quarterback. You’ve got to be able to run the ball really well.”

However, with that said, in the actual draft, I don’t know that Membou will be available for the Colts at pick No. 14.
