Taraji P. Henson joined several distinguished guests and celebrity attendees for the Fashion Trust Awards 2025 on Tuesday in Los Angeles. The Oscar-nominated actress went sleek and modern with her look, turning to the runway for her wardrobe inspiration.
For the special awards ceremony, Henson favored a dress from Jonathan Simkhai‘s fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The strapless gown featured a sweetheart neckline in a plum hue made of structured fabric with a sheen under flashing lights of the red carpet.

Henson’s refined, modern look continued with her accessories. The “Fight Night” actress styled a pair of shoes courtesy of Jimmy Choo, and carried a bag courtesy of Simkhai as well. When it came to her jewelry, Henson wore pieces courtesy of Messika, including a statement necklace, earrings and rings.
For her glam, Henson’s blunt pixie cut was styled by Kellon Deryck. Henson’s makeup included a bold brow, smokey eye and berry lip by artist Saisha Beecham. Henson’s look was curated by styling team Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, who’ve also collaborated with Aja Naomi King, Colman Domingo and more.

Henson’s Fashion Trust Awards look made its runway debut as part of New York Fashion Week last February. The collection featured a bevy of vintage inspiration, with eponymous designer Jonathan Simkhai musing on the lived in pieces of retro designs.
Highlights from the collection included “an embellished sheer tank and a stunning finale gown, completely encrusted in crystal details, and then pieces with a distressed and lived in energy, such as loose oversize leather pants with a cozy knit with tattered edges and tiny little purposefully done holes,” Thomas Waller wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.

The Fashion Trust Awards, a nonprofit supporting emerging designers, announced the 2025 award winners at the organization’s third annual awards ceremony at Los Angeles’ The Lot at Formosa on Tuesday night.
The event was hosted by Keke Palmer and featured such stars as Ciara, Kate Hudson and Colman Domingo. Awards ranging from ready-to-wear to jewelry, accessories, a recent graduate and the special award for sustainability were handed out.
