Jennifer Hudson embraced the contrasting texture trend in a strapless latex gown at the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special red carpet on Sunday is Los Angeles.
The EGOT winner wore a bespoke dress from La Roxx. Hudson layered the shiny, full-length gown over a sheer, long-sleeved top adorned with shimmering jewels around the collar. Her ensemble included tight latex opera gloves and a floor-sweeping train that attached to the shirt’s sleeves, give it a cape-like effect.
Hudson accessorized with drop earrings from Anayah that matched her bejeweled collar, along with rings from A. Jaffe and Zydo. She completed the look with satin black pumps, barely visible beneath her dress.
During the event, Jennifer Hudson performed Houston’s most recognizable song, “I Will Always Love You,” popularized by the 1992 film “The Bodyguard,” starring Houston and Kevin Costner.
This isn’t the first time Hudson has worn a custom creation from La Roxx. At the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, she wore a catsuit with sheer fabric and crystal embellishments, paired with a structured leather trench.
The 50th anniversary of the American Music Awards honored its history with new performances and interviews from music legends like Jennifer Lopez and Reba McEntire. The milestone event features never-before-seen archive footage, celebrating the show’s influence on pop culture and music’s biggest moments.
